Draw made for Round 2 of the Laois Senior Football Championship

The draw for Round 2 of the Laois Senior Football Championship has been made.

The action got underway on Thursday evening when Courtwood shocked everyone by beating Portlaoise.

Emo got the better of their neighbours O’Dempsey’s on Friday night and we then had a triple header on Saturday.

Portarlington got the defence of their title up and going against Ballyfin with Graiguecullen and Ballyroan-Abbey seeing off The Heath and Killeshin respectively.

There was more drama on Sunday with the final three games down for decision.

The first was won by Rosenallis following a thrilling encounter with Ballylinan.

Stradbally had a convincing victory over Arles-Killeen while St Joseph’s just had too much for Clonaslee.

The draw was conducted at full time after that game.

The victors of the Round 2 Winner’s games will progress straight to the semi finals with the losers heading for quarter finals.

They will be joined by the two winners of the Round 2 Loser’s games while the losers of those games will contest the relegation final.
