WATCH: Video emerges of row between Arles-Killeen and Killeshin following Laois SFC game in O’Moore Park

Video footage has emerged of some of the fight that broke out at the end of the Arles-Killeen v Killeshin Laois SFC game in O’Moore Park this evening.

Killeshin won the local derby by 1-17 to 0-15 after extra time, a result that sends them through to Round 3 of the championship but knocks Arles-Killeen out and into a relegation playoff.

But it’s the scenes at the final whistle that will ensure this game is remembered.

In the one-minute clip that was filmed from the stand in O’Moore Park and circulated widely on messaging apps, players, supporters and officials can be seen in the row.

While the melee was already underway, a major flashpoint appears to occur when a supporter gets involved over the barrier with a non-playing opponent. He is then dragged over onto the pitch as the row escalates.

Laois GAA are likely to launch an investigation into the controversy though will await the referee’s report.

There was also a Laois GAA sanctioned video recording of the game which can be used for disciplinary purposes.

In a busy and tense couple of days of Laois senior football championship action, there was also skirmishes in two of the other games played so far involving Ballylinan and Clonaslee-St Manman’s on Thursday night and between Emo and The Heath in the second game on Saturday.

The latest set of results means that the four teams in the relegation playoffs are now confirmed: Ballylinan, Ballyfin, Arles-Killeen and The Heath.

The draw for the relegation playoffs will take place on Sunday evening in O’Moore Park.
