There are two big games down for decision as the Laois hurling championships get back going.
In the IHC, avoiding the relegation playoff is the prize as Mountmellick and Mountrath clash in the Centre of Excellence at 6.45pm.
Meanwhile, a place in the knockout stages of the Laois SHC is up for grabs this evening at 7.30pm as Abbeyleix and Camross do battle in O’Moore Park.
A draw or a win will send Abbeyleix through to the quarter-finals while Camross must win to avoid being knocked out and into a relegation decider.
Abbeyleix have been the more impressive the two so far, drawing with 2020 finalists Borris-Kilcotton in their opening game before losing by five points to Rathdowney-Errill the last day out.
Camross have lost both games to date, by eight points to Rathdowney-Errill in their opening game and then by six to Borris-Kilcotton in their last outing.
But unlike last season when only the top two teams went through to the semi-finals, the quarter-final stage has been reinstated, which gives both of these clubs a lifeline.
The winner of this game will more than likely take third spot in the group – and a quarter-final place against the losers of Clough-Ballacolla and Castletown.
The loser will face the loser of The Harps and Rosenallis in a relegation final in two weeks time.
