Laois Today: LIVE BLOG: Follow all the action as Emo and O’Dempsey’s clash in SFC Round 1

The Laois Senior Football Championship continues tonight as Emo and O’Dempsey’s face each other in the second game of the Round 1 fixtures.

It is a 7.45pm throw-in in O’Moore Park for the battle of these two.

For the third time in the last four years, neighbours O’Dempsey’s and Emo are going to meet.

In 2018, O’Dempsey’s won by 1-13 to 0-10 and went all the way to the final where they lost to Portlaoise.

But last year saw Emo reverse that result and triumph 2-13 to 2-11 in a thriller.

They subsequently went on to knock out Portlaoise are were only halted in the semi final by Graiguecullen.

Emo have recovered by winning Division 1B of the league and will be favourites to win this.

Courtwood sprung a surprise by defeating Portlaoise last night and O’Dempsey’s will be hoping to do the same.
