Excitement is building this weekend ahead of a series of 2020 county finals.
Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon all see games take place in O’Moore Park that will bring all of the outstanding competitions from last year to a close.
On Sunday, a famine will be ended as Portarlington and Graiguecullen meet in the 2020 SFC final.
Portarlington’s last success was in 2001 while you have to go all the way back to 1965 for Graiguecullen’s last triumph.
Covid-19 has curtailed some of the excitement that would usually be taking place in these places ahead of a big game – but it hasn’t stopped one club from producing their own song.
Graiguecullen have released their county final song with a group of sisters teaming up with photographer Paul Dargan to produce it.
Jessica, Chelsie, Chole and Jade Nolan, accompanied by Kim Hayden, have put together this brilliant track that you can listen to below.
Graiguecullen GAA posted the music video and they explained on Facebook what it means.
They said: “As Sunday comes closer and the green and red flags are flying high. We all need to remember the history of how we got here to this day.
“This song written by The Nolan Sisters represents how proud we feel about our little village.
“The girls expressed the hard work that was put in by the club, community and most especially the players who have worked tirelessly to make our dream come through to get to this very special day.
“‘Now is the time, it’s in our hands to bring the cup back home’.”
