There are now just three 2020 Laois GAA championships left outstanding after Spink defeated Graiguecullen in the Junior ‘B’ football decider.
Sean Downey, Cha Dwyer and Paul Simms, their Laois hurling trio, were to the fore as they ran out four point winners.
Spink gave themselves an uphill task after trailing by five points at the first water break but they edged their way back into the game before eventually taking the lead through Michael Downey.
Once they got ahead, they stayed so and made the game safe near the end when Aaron O’Dea struck for a goal.
Graiguecullen played their part in a very entertaining game with Jamie Malone, Padraig Murphy and Brian O’Rourke among their main players.
But it was Spink who prevailed by four points in the end and full time sparked wild celebrations.
They will now take their place in the 2021 Junior ‘A’ championship in a group alongside Killeshin’s second team and Annanough.
