Laois ladies footballers learn championship fixture dates while U-14 panel named

The Laois ladies have learned their dates for the upcoming All-Ireland intermediate football championship.

Laois are in a three team group alongside Kildare and Roscommon – the teams they beat on the way to Division 3 glory last weekend.

Two teams will progress from this group to the All-Ireland quarter finals and the competition gets underway on July 11.

Kildare will face Roscommon on that day with Laois having a bye.

Laois will begin their journey against Kildare on July 18 – where they will be hoping for a third win of 2021 against their neighbours.

Laois will then face Roscommon the following Sunday – July 25.

No venues for these games have been revealed but the LGFA tend to put these matches in neutral venues.

Laois defeated Roscommon in the league semi final in Westmeath while the league final against Kildare was played in Wicklow.

Meanwhile, Laois LGFA named a 30-player panel for the U-14 Leinster football championship.

Sarsfields lead the way with eight players while St Brigid’s are next with five.
