Since club GAA got the green light last month, Laois GAA have been getting through their club leagues at a fair pace.
All divisions, with the exception of Division 5 of the hurling league, are down to semi final stage and some are even down to finals.
In football, the top division in football came to a conclusion last night following Portarlington’s big win over O’Dempsey’s.
That sent them into a semi final against St Joseph’s while Portlaoise will play Graiguecullen in the other.
The Division 1A relegation semi finals will see Ballyroan-Abbey take on O’Dempsey’s and Courtwood face Ballylinan.
While Division 1B saw Killeshin and The Heath top their respective groups where they will face Emo and Arles-Killeen respectively in the semi finals.
Division 1B relegation semi finals see Stradbally take on Portlaoise’s second team and Arles-Kilcruise square up against the team who replaced them at senior this year – Clonaslee.
Park-Ratheniska, who have won every game played in 2021 thus far, will look to continue that in the Division 2 semi final against Mountmellick with Rosenallis facing Timahoe in the other.
Relegation from that divisions sees the second strings of St Joseph’s and O’Dempsey’s go head to head in one semi final with Crettyard taking on Portarlington’s second team in the other.
Divisions 3A, 3B and 4 have all now reached league final and relegation final stage.
Ballyfin will face Killeshin’s second team in the Division 3A final while Kilcavan and Graiguecullen will meet in the relegation decider.
In 3B, Ballyroan-Abbey and Rosenallis will contest the final while the relegation is still at semi final stage.
While in Division 4, the league final is between Emo’s second team and The Harps while the second strings of Timahoe and Alres-Kilcruise will contest the relegation final.
The final football league is Division 5 where the semi finals see Ballyfin meet Park-Ratheniska and The Heath take on Ballyroan-Abbey.
In hurling, Borris-Kilcotton’s win over Castletown on Monday set up a Division 1A semi final with Abbeyleix as Camross face Rathdowney-Errill in the other.
Relegation from that division sees Clough-Ballacolla take on Rosenallis in one semi final and The Harps against Castletown in the other.
In Division 1B, Camross and Rathdowney-Errill have once also reached the semi finals where they face Clough-Ballacolla and Mountrath respectively.
Portlaoise face Colt-Shanahoe in one relegation semi final while Ballinakill play Ballyfin in the other.
In Division 2, Borris-Kilcotton face The Harps in one semi final with Trumera taking on Clonaslee in the other.
Relegation semi finals in that division see Slieve Bloom take on Colt-Shanahoe and Park-Ratheniska-Timahoe square off with Mountmellick.
Portlaoise sealed their place in the Division 3 final last night and they will play the winners of Clonad and Abbeyleix in that.
While Castletown take on Mountrath in one relegation semi final and Ballypickas face Rathdowney-Errill in the other.
In Division 4, The Harps take on Camross in one semi final with Ballinakill taking on Rosenallis in the other.
The relegation final will see Park-Ratheniska-Timahoe take on the losers of Kyle and Rathdowney-Errill.
