The Laois ladies footballers are in action this afternoon in the Division 3 National Football League final.
They take on Kildare in the Baltinglass GAA grounds in Wicklow with a double prize for the winners – a league title and promotion to Division 2 for the 2022 season.
Laois have already beaten Kildare in the group stages of this competition and reached the final thanks to a thrilling win over Roscommon in the semi-final two weeks ago.
Kildare recovered from their opening round loss to Laois in O’Moore Park back on May 23 to beat Wicklow and Longford in the group stages before then seeing off Sligo in the semi-final.
And this afternoon’s clash will also serve as a warm-up to their championship meeting later this year as both sides have been drawn in the same group in the All Ireland intermediate grade.
Donie Brennan’s side have shown good form this year and having beaten Kildare in last year’s championship are seeking a third straight win over their neighbours.
