Laois will take on Down on Saturday week, June 12, in Pairc Eisler in Newry in their National Football League Division 2 relegation game.
The GAA have confirmed the fixture details that see Laois travel to the Ulster venue for a 6.15pm throw-in.
The loser of the Laois-Down game will be relegated to Division 3 for the 2022 season.
Down have home advantage as they only had one home fixture during their Division 2 North campaign with Laois having two home games.
Incidentally Down lost their home advantage for one of their regular league games as they were one of four counties found to be in breach of the training ban during the Coronavirus restrictions.
Down duly lost their opening two games to Mayo and Meath though they did record a win over Westmeath in Mullingar last Sunday.
Laois lost all three of their Division 2 South games to finish bottom of that group behind Clare, Kildare and Cork.
The last time Laois and Down met in the league was in the opening round of their Division 3 campaign in 2019 when Laois recorded a 2-15 to 1-12 win in Newry.
The Laois hurlers are also in action that Saturday, June 12, in Ulster as they take on Antrim in the final game in Division 1B of the National Hurling League in Belfast.
