The Laois Ladies footballers have unveiled their new away jersey for the 2021 season.
They have teamed up with DS Sports, run by Emo footballer Darren Strong, to produce the brand new kit for the next two years.
The Laois LGFA recently applied to Laois GAA for permission to use the men’s home kit as their home strip for this season.
Chairman Jason Monaghan confirmed that this request was accepted and that O’Neill’s will manufacture their new home jersey which should be available next week.
He said: “We are delighted to get this over the line. Our new home jersey will be made by O’Neills and this is due to launch next week coming.
“All of our other gear for 2021 and 2022 is with DS Sports – and this includes are underage sides too.
“Darren has always been a true supporter of the Ladies down the years and we are delighted to be able to give something back.
“We thank Darren for his patience and hard work to get all in order.”
The Ladies’ away strip will be sponsored by Laois comapny IntegriLeads.
They are currently gearing up to represent Laois at the National Enterprise Awards final and will compete against 29 other finalists for a prize fund totalling €50,000.
IntegriLeads are an award-winning appointment setting company. Founded by Aisling Kirwan, Jayne Delaney and Eimear O’Connor, they have 40 years combined experience scheduling highly qualified appointments for companies in the technology sector.
The company works with national and international clients giving them exceptional insights of different markets across multiple geographies.
The news comes after it was revealed last year that Laois Ladies had retained the services of their outgoing management team for the 2021 season.
Arles-Killeen native Donie Brennan decided remain in charge of the side when the new season kicks off.
Laois were in Division 3 of the league and found themselves in third place before Covid-19 brought action to a halt in March.
It got back underway again in October and Laois enjoyed a big win over Sligo in Round 1 of the All-Ireland Intermediate championship.
They came unstuck in Round 2 but bounced back in serious style to defeat Kildare in their final group game.
That meant that they finished level with Kildare and Clare at the top of the group but just missed out on an All-Ireland semi final place on points difference.
Donie will be assisted once again by Timahoe’s Maggie Murphy, Portlaoise’s Daniel O’Neill, Crettyard’s John Murphy and Stradbally’s Liam Delaney.
