The Laois man in charge of the Down camogie team has decided to step down.
Derek Dunne, who hails from Clonad, has decided to vacate the position after three years in charge.
He ended his term by guiding the county to the All-Ireland intermediate final victory over neighbours Antrim on Saturday week last – a first success at that level for 22 years.
As well as the All-Ireland, Down also won three Ulster titles in Dunne’s time in charge.
Confirming the news, Dunne said: “It’s been a fantastic journey and culminated in an unforgettable day on Saturday week in Kingspan Breffni.
“I will look back at my time in Down with great fondness and have made friendships there that I will bring with me for life.
“I would like to thank the Down players, the backroom team and county board for this opportunity and I wish them the very best over the coming years.”
