Laois GAA clubs playing in MW Hire O’Moore Park will now get 100 tickets each for supporters while for games outside of the county grounds they will get 50 tickets each.
This follows on from the Government’s announcement on Wednesday that 200 people will be allowed to attend games in a stadium that has a capacity greater than 5,000.
In smaller grounds, 100 people can attend. And in contrast to the previous restrictions, the number of people to attend excludes players, officials and media. Clubs will also get 40 complementary tickets each for their players and management.
Laois GAA secretary Niall Handy emailed the clubs on Tuesday evening clarifying the new rules.
“Further to today’s announcement in relation to patrons being allowed attend games from tomorrow, it has been clarified that 100 persons can attend club games at club grounds outside of O’Moore Park and 200 persons may attend games in O’Moore Park,” he said.
“This figure excludes players, match officials and stewards, so effectively for Intermediate (and SFC Relegation game on Friday evening) championship games this weekend, there will be 50 tickets available to each club to purchase and for Senior Championship games in O’Moore Park this weekend, there will be 100 tickets available to each Club to purchase.”
Tickets for all games are €10 and in situations where clubs had previously paid for tickets, they will have credit on this occasion.
Clubs are also being reminded that they must have replied by noon today or Laois GAA “will re-allocate (their tickets) to opposing club or put on general sale”.
“Apologies for short time notice, but clarification only came this evening,” concluded the Laois GAA secretary.
This weekend sees another busy weekend of action with four Round 3 games in the Laois SFC, two relegation games as well as the intermediate quarter-finals and relegation playoff.
There is also ladies football semi-finals and minor football fixed over the next couple of days.
