The Laois senior football championship resumes this evening with Round 2 – with neighbours Emo and O’Dempsey’s meeting in the LOETB Centre of Excellence in Portlaoise.
Emo were impressive 1-16 to 2-5 winners over last year’s beaten finalists Killeshin in the opening round while O’Dempsey’s were on fire against Courtwood when they ran out 7-11 to 1-17 winners.
The sides last met in the championship in 2018 when O’Dempsey’s were 1-13 to 0-10 winners en route to what was their first senior final appearance in 35 years.
The winners of tonight’s game will go straight through to the quarter-final in four weeks with the losers having a Round 3 game in two weeks.
Tonight’s game is the first of a busy weekend of senior championship action, with eight games across four days.
Tomorrow night The Heath and Graiguecullen meet while on Saturday and Sunday there are three games on each day.
As well as following all of tonight’s action from the Emo v O’Dempsey’s game, we’ll have updates from some of the junior games down for decision, including the meeting of Kilcavan and The Heath in the Junior ‘A’ grade.
