Big Laois involvement in cup finals in latest CCFL fixtures

The Combined Counties Football League’s 2019-2020 seasons, which is almost 12 months old now, is down to the final stages.

This Sunday sees four cup finals take place with four Laois teams involved in three of them.

The showpiece event of the season is the Combined Counties Cup final and for the third season running – a Laois team has made the final.

Rosenallis (2018) and Stradbally Town (2019) have failed in the past but now Portlaoise outfit Towerhill Rovers will have a go.

They face stiff opposition though as they play Birr Town who recently won the Senior Division – the highest league in the CCFL.

That game is at 3pm in Leah Victoria Park while earlier in the day, at 12pm, the Mountmellick Ladies will contest the Combined Counties Football League Women’s Shield Final.

While back in Portlaoise on the same day, two Portlaoise based outfits will meet in the Division 3 Plate Final.

Rossleighan Park will be the venue as Maryborough FC and Midlands Celtic clash at 11am.
