An incident in Ballyroan that involved a man in his 20s barricading himself into a house and that involved Garda negotiations over the past 24 hours has been revolved.
In a statement issued this evening, Gardai explained what had unfolded.
“Shortly after 10pm last night, Saturday 23rd May 2020, Gardaí received a report that a male in his 20s had barricaded himself into a residential property in Ballyroan,” said the statement.
”Gardaí became concerned for his welfare.
“A Garda negotiator attended the scene and the incident was resolved shortly before 9:30pm today, Sunday 24 May 2020.
”The man is currently being assessed by medical personnel.”
The Gardai added that they would not be making any further statement at this time and thanked the media for respecting the ‘media blackout’ that had been requested.
