BREAKING: Laois v Kildare National Football League game POSTPONED due to Storm Jorge

The Laois v Kildare Allianz Football League Division 2 game scheduled for MW Hire O’Moore Park this evening has been postponed due to the poor weather conditions.

The game had been due to take place in Portlaoise at 7pm but a decision was taken to postpone the game until tomorrow, Sunday, March 1, at 1pm because of high winds amid Storm Jorge which has Orange Weather wind warning across the country.

It is the third Laois football match in four weeks to be postponed because of the weather – while the Laois hurling game v Kilkenny tomorrow has been moved to Nowlan Park from Portlaoise as the pitch was expected to be unplayable following the football this evening.

The Laois v Cavan Division 2 game on Sunday, February 9 was postponed by one week while the U-20 football clash between Laois and Westmeath was called off at the last minute on Saturday, February 15, and re-fixed for two nights later on February 17.

The Mayo v Kerry Division 1 game in Castlebar was also switched from Saturday night to a Sunday afternoon throw-in.

Laois currently sit on five points in Division 2, one point off leaders Cavan and tied with Westmeath, Roscommon and Armagh.

Kildare, Clare and Fermanagh are all on two points with four rounds of games played.

The other games in Division 2 this weekend are all scheduled for Sunday and see Roscommon at home to Westmeath, Cavan at home to Clare and Fermanagh host Armagh.
